"I have been reading your book. Excellent. Love the hay analysis decoding.

It's exactly as advertised. If you have your own farm, board elsewhere or take in boarders, this is a great source of information. Stated the facts and anyone can use that info."

A really good book.  I recommend when I teach.  (I don’t get anything for endorsing this book.  I just bought it and thought it was one of the best books I have read in a long time).

Easy to read with real-world advice and guidance!

This book is really well written, researched, and chock FULL of useful and relevant information!

I’m in publishing and although it is always impressive that anyone gets their book published, even a book that is bad or not truthful can be out on the market. This is NOT that type of book. This book hits it out of the park with crucial information, easy-to-read copy, and engaging real-life snippets at the end of each chapter.

This book is PERFECT for any teen who’s around horses so they can learn good habits from the start, those who wish to/are currently managing a barn or riding facility, or those who want to be responsible owners/riders.

This book ticks all the boxes in Best of Show!!

About Lori Tankel

Lori Tankel grew up loving horses, which were to be found on her grandparent’s farm outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. and she has made sure that they have always been a part of her life. Following her parent’s divorce and a subsequent move to Florida, having a horse meant having to do all of the work herself in order to keep costs down. She was fortunate to have found the best of mentors who taught her correct horsemanship and stable management.

Tankel’s equine experience spans more than 5 decades and includes roles as barn manager, vet tech, and competitor in eventing, dressage, hunters, and jumpers. She has been a trainer, instructor, volunteer and she was a co-founder of a non-profit equine rescue. When her two daughters joined the United States Pony Club, she became involved as a District Commissioner and was passionate about teaching horse management and volunteering at rallies as a horse management judge.

Today, Tankel resides on her farm, Calypso Ridge Farm in DeLeon Springs, Florida, with her husband, Peter, and an assortment of animals, including her Thoroughbred, Gabriel. Her blog of more than a decade (commonsensehorsekeeping.beehiiv.com) strives to educate horse owners and stable managers in the proper way of caring for horses.
